Oksana Vrublevska, Director of Scientific & Production Corporation “Kliver”, member of the UMC Supervisory Board, shared her impressions of the event:

“Our company’s participation in Euronaval caused to the fact that the Naval subcluster, which includes “Kliver”, is working towards the creation of an international cooperation of naval products manufacturers with the aim of developing domestic samples of modern weapons, such as a multifunctional robotic platform.

In view of the new geopolitical situation in the world, caused by Russia’s war against Ukraine, all participants of the exhibition – manufacturers of naval products – focused their efforts on the production of unmanned surface and underwater systems, as well as effective battle management systems using artificial intelligence to reproduce virtual maps missions.

We were pleasantly impressed by the widespread use of startups in the military industry, which is an innovative approach for such a conservative type of industry. We took part in several rounds of startup presentations and found some pretty good ideas for use in the future research and development activities of the enterprises of the Naval Industrial Complex of Ukraine, such as the use of non-traditional materials for communication provision.

Euronaval allows participants to expand significantly the circle of partners, and we also had a very constructive meeting with the company “Safran” (France), which currently works on the Ukrainian market with aviation technologies manufacturers, however, we managed to find a promising direction of using French-made navigation systems for controlling underwater drones.

We are convinced that participation in such an event is important for the development and reputation of Ukraine, because unlike previous exhibitions, world manufacturers were absolutely open to cooperation, ready to listen to our needs and help with technologies.

It is worth noting that we felt special attention to Ukraine and Ukrainian manufacturers from all the companies whose stands we visited at the exhibition: “Excavision” (France), “Exail” (France), “RTSYS” (France), “Kership” (Fance), “Altal Electronics” (Germany), “Siemens Energy“ (Germany), “SAAB” (UK), “Chess Dynamics” (UK) and others. We were especially impressed by the technology level of the inertial navigation system of the Australian-British company “Advaced Navigation”, which was represented by the Australian Defense Department. Its Sales Director gave us so professional, technical presentation and expressed personal sympathy for the military and economic situation in Ukraine.

We are sure that the new connections and agreements that were concluded at the exhibition will be useful to the members of the Ukrainian Navy, who are currently working on combat capability increasing of the Ukrainian Navy, especially in terms of supplying critical components, such as, for example, underwater cables or inertial management systems. We will face a serious task after the end of the war as restoring the equipment and weapons of the Navy, and we will be able to use cooperation with our partners to the fullest extent.”

Moving ahead in order to open Ukraine to the world as high-tech, reliable partner, which is ready for effective cooperation. Waiting for the next opportunity to demonstrate that.
