PROJECT KICK-OFF MEETING WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE EU4BUSINESS PROGRAM. AMBASSADOR OF MYKOLAIV CITY.

As part of the EU4Business program, funded by the European Union and the German government, the Ukrainian Maritime Cluster is launching the project «Ambassadors of Mykolaiv city».

The Public Union «Ukrainian Maritime Cluster» (hereinafter «UMC»/Ukrainian Maritime Cluster) plays an important role in promoting effective business integration and establishing connections with European and world markets for Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) both in the maritime sector, as well as in other industries.

On October 12, an online presentation of the project «Ambassadors of Mykolaiv city» was held. During the event, 10 ambassador enterprises were presented.

«The presentation included a list of activities for the participating enterprises of the project, as well as the research «SHIPBUILDING SECTOR OF THE MYKOLAEV ECONOMY: state and prospects of cooperation with European markets», presented by Doctor of Economic Sciences, professor Volodymyr Parsiak, within the framework of this project. This is the first research in the maritime sector of the economy since the beginning of the war. Today the revival of shipbuilding and the development of the industry as a whole are a priority for Southern Ukraine. This is part of the development strategy of Mykolaiv city, so the maritime sector is currently the focus of our attention,” stated Artem Vashchylenko, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Ukrainian Maritime Cluster.

Anna Hayduchok, GIZ, Head of the «EU4Business: Recovery, Competitiveness, and Internationalization of SMEs» cluster support component, welcomed the event participants and emphasized:

«Small and medium-sized enterprises are vital contributors to economic development and are the backbone of most European countries’ economies. Initiatives like this project are of great importance to us. We have the opportunity to support Mykolaiv and such a significant industry for us».

Ten Mykolaiv-based enterprises have already been chosen as Ambassadors of the city, and they will have the opportunity to develop their skills in various aspects of the maritime industry, including trade, marketing, and B2B interactions. Additionally, together with them, UMC is preparing for participation in the global maritime exhibition EUROPORT 2023, which will take place in Rotterdam in November 2023. This project opens up various opportunities for participants, including access to innovation and technological progress, partnerships, business opportunities, collaboration, and integration of different segments of the maritime industry, as well as increased efficiency and cost savings through new technologies.

The delegation «Ambassadors of Mykolaiv city» includes: PE «Intellectual Maritime Technologies», «Black Sea Yachts Shipyard» LLC, «Black Sea Shipyard Company» LLC, «C-Job Nikolayev» LLC, Project Design Bureau «ProLINE», «AMICO Digital» LLC, «Company Gulfstream» LLC, PE «Marine Design Service», «ARTEL MARINE» LLC, and «Ocean Shipyard» LLC.

«Our delegates are leading companies in the maritime industry with international authority, and their efforts are aimed at representing Mykolaiv and contributing to the development of Ukraine’s maritime industry» – stressed Olena Zhukova, Executive Director of the Ukrainian Maritime Cluster.

Artem Vashchylenko, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of UMC, noted:

«I am confident that the direct contacts established during the work in the Ukrainian pavilion at the EUROPORT exhibition in Rotterdam will also lay the groundwork for the development of the shipbuilding industry and for companies that are a part of this powerful ecosystem».

In addition to all the above, during the meeting, Olha Raku, Project Manager of «Ambassadors of Mykolaiv city», UMC portfolio manager, informed about the project’s key activities: training sessions, a series of consultations, and expert support in preparation for participation in the international maritime exhibition EUROPORT 2023.

As part of the EU4Business project, training sessions «Exhibition Step by Step» and «Creative Ideas: How to Attract Attention to Your Company at an Exhibition» have already taken place. During these events, ambassadors actively delved into the organizational processes of the Ukrainian pavilion’s preparation for EUROPORT 2023.
