Ukrainian Maritime Cluster became a member of the European Network of Maritime Clusters (ENMC)

In July, the Public Union “Ukrainian Maritime Cluster” (hereinafter PU “UMC”) received the status of member of the European Network of Maritime Clusters (ENMC).

Step by step, the leadership of the PU “UMC” is building international intercluster ties. Thus, on June 22, 2023, Artem Vashchylenko, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the PU “UMC” and Olena Zhukova, the Executive Director of the PU “UMC”, took part in the meeting of the European Network of Maritime Clusters (ENMC). During the event, the main results of the activities of the PU “UMC” were presented and development priorities were outlined. This was an important focus when deciding on UMC’s membership in ENMC.

PU “UMC” shares the main values and mission of ENMC.

“Membership in this organization opens wide opportunities for cooperation and exchange of knowledge with other influential players in the European arena. This stimulates the development of innovative ideas, promotes the exchange of best practices and the joint solution of complex problems,” said Artem Vashchylenko, Head of the Supervisory Board of the PU”UMC”.

 

“This inspires us to further development, improvement and continuation of our mission to promote positive changes and recovery of the maritime industry of Ukraine at the national and international levels,” added Olena Zhukova, Executive Director of the PU”UMC”.

The European Network of Maritime Clusters (ENMC) was established in 2005 as a platform for exchanging information and networking between the maritime cluster organizations of European member states. Since its foundation, the ENMC main principle is to establish an efficient framework for maritime sectorial cooperation, focused on vocalizing the unambiguous maritime interest to European policy makers towards a European maritime level playing field; a single European Maritime Cluster. The central goal of ENMC is thus to become an European Maritime Cluster as direct partner to the European Commission in all maritime affairs. The association is based in Luxembourg.

  • Promoting and defending the interests of its members principally active in the maritime sector;
  • Promoting networking among its members:
  • Representing the interests of its members vis-à-vis third parties;
  • Informing EU decisions makers about the strengths and opportunities of the maritime clusters;
  • Organizing and participating in meetings and events to reach our objectives;
  • Sharing policy documents and funding opportunities;
  • Organizing maritime stakeholders’ meetings in Brussels (Belgique).
