NATIONAL CAMPAIGN “YOUTH AND INDUSTRY 4.0”

The urgency of the topic is due to the need to prepare the younger generation of Ukrainians for Industry 4.0, as well as awareness in this context of the problem of outflow of personnel, low level of training and low motivation of young people. Therefore, the campaign aims to involve a wide range of industrialists and stakeholders in addressing the challenges, reaching consensus on youth engagement and preparing for the challenges of the dual digital and green transition and, most importantly, creating a common agenda for industrial sectors to respond to these challenges.

The main partners and organizers of the campaign are Industry4Ukraine (Committee “Sustainable Industry”), АППАУ, Ukrainian Maritime Cluster, ІАМ clusters from Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv. The main events of the campaign received the status of EU Industry Weeks from the European Commission.

The campaign includes the following stages and activities:

  • 1. Conducting a survey (January 15 – February 3) to identify the main challenges in attracting young people to industrial high-tech (Industry 4.0)
  • 2. A campaign in the media (starting in late January) to draw attention to the problems of involving young people in industry and industrial high-tech.
  • 3. Holding regional roundtables (in February) in the regions to develop a consolidated list of challenges and best practices. The schedule of round tables is as follows:
    • February 8 – Kharkiv
    • February 10 – Zaporizhzhia
    • February 15 – Mykolaiv
    • February 17 – Vinnytsia
    • February 22 – Kyiv
  • 4. The final conference, which will take place in Kyiv on March 3. The event should present the best practices of the regions and the formation of a common agenda at the national level.
