Blue Summit in Mykolaiv 2025

Blue Summit in Mykolaiv 2025 is set to become a significant milestone in the development of the blue economy, opening new horizons for innovation and collaboration. The event will facilitate the formation of joint strategies and actions that will ensure sustainable growth of Ukraine’s maritime sector and its integration into the European economic space.

This year’s summit focuses on achieving the integrity and resilience of the maritime sector, which is critical for the country’s economic recovery. Participants will discuss key aspects such as infrastructure restoration, the development of innovative technologies, and the integration of environmental practices into the maritime industry. Special emphasis will be placed on international cooperation, which will foster mutually beneficial partnerships and attract investments.

An important component of the summit will be the discussion of the role of the Ukrainian Maritime Cluster in integration processes and its contribution to shaping the sector’s development strategy. The goal of the event is to unite and consolidate the efforts and actions of key market participants, central and local authorities for the preservation and support of the maritime sector’s development in Ukraine, as well as to activate Ukraine’s activities within the European maritime community. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of stakeholders and the support of partners, the city of Mykolaiv is already becoming a center for the development of the blue economy today, utilizing practical tools that will facilitate the implementation of innovative projects and initiatives.

The meeting will focus on several key areas of discussion:
1. Development of projects aimed at restoring the infrastructure of Mykolaiv and their impact on the local economy.

2. EU policies and practices in the development of the blue economy.

3. Industrial maritime strategy, including key development directions for the maritime industry, cutting-edge technologies, and innovative solutions that can enhance the sector’s efficiency and competitiveness.

4. Opportunities for the blue economy in Mykolaiv, assessing the city’s potential for implementing projects in this field and strategic initiatives that can contribute to economic growth and infrastructure development.

5. Support and project implementation tools, including funding mechanisms and support from the EU.

Participants of the summit will include representatives from the maritime community, members of the Ukrainian Maritime Cluster, leaders and managers of companies operating in shipbuilding, ship repair, design, yacht and small vessel servicing, trade, shipping, coastal services, marinas, crewing, and leasing, as well as representatives from central and local government authorities and the European maritime community.



The event will take place within the framework of the project “Supporting the Sustainable Transformation of Mykolaiv for Transition to the Blue Economy,” implemented under the initiative “Mayors for Economic Growth,” funded by the
European Union, and with the support of the “Innovation Fund” project, financed by the Kingdom of Denmark. The projects are implemented by the United Nations Development Programme. Partners of the event include the project “Information Support for EU Networks in Ukraine” and the Ukrainian Maritime Cluster.
