On June 12, the General Assembly of SEA Europe (Shipyards’ & Maritime Equipment Association of Europe) was held in Bucharest, bringing together leaders of the shipbuilding and maritime industries from various European countries🇪🇺.

The main topic of discussion was the upcoming European Industrial Maritime Strategy. Participants exchanged views on ways to strengthen the competitiveness of the European sector amid growing global competition, and emphasized the need for a coordinated strategy that supports innovation, technological independence, and sustainable development.

During the meeting, Olena Zhukova — Executive Director of the PU “Ukrainian Maritime Cluster” and Director of MDEM_Intl — gave a presentation on joint humanitarian projects implemented by the Damen Support Foundation, led by Annelies Damen, as consistent support for Ukrainian families in adapting and realizing themselves under martial law in Ukraine. This support includes humanitarian initiatives, the safe relocation of families, career guidance activities in youth camps, and mental health and medical recovery programs implemented by the Association for helping Ukrainians. She also expressed her gratitude to Damen Shipyards Galati, Damen Group, and their partners for their solidarity and support in difficult times.
